Our Statement of Faith We believe: That the Holy Bible, comprising the 66 books of the Old and New Testament, is the inspired Word of God, our final authority on all matters of faith and morals, and inerrant in the original manuscripts (2 Timothy 3:16,17; John 10:35; 1 Peter 1:20-21). In the existence of one God in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19) who are distinct in their persons (John 14:16; John 17:5), one and coequal in their nature (Deut. 6:4; John 6:27; John 1:1,14; 2 Cor. 3:17), and coeternal in their existence (Ps. 90:2; Ex. 3:14; John 8:58; Heb. 9:14). In the creation of the human race in the image of God (Gen 1:26) as literally recorded in the first and second chapters of Genesis. In the entrance of sin into the world through the disobedience of Adam (Rom. 5:12,15) and subsequent fall (Gen. 3) resulting in a divine curse upon all of creation (Gen. 3:14,17-19). In the full deity and humanity of Jesus Christ (Col. 2:9; Phil. 2:6-7; John 1:1,14), who was born of a virgin (Luke 1:28-35; Matt. 1:23), who died blameless (Heb. 4:15,16; 1 Pet. 2:22) as a substitute for the sins of mankind (Isa. 53:5-6; Mark 10:45; 1 Cor. 15:3; 1 Pet. 2:24), who bodily rose from the dead (1 Cor. 15:4, Luke 24:39, Acts 2:31), and is now at the right hand of the Father (1 Peter 3:22; Acts 7:55), acting as an advocate and intercessor for all believers (1 John 2:1). That salvation is by the grace of God through repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ apart from any works (Luke 13:3; Acts 16:31, 20:26; Eph. 2:8,9) by the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:5). That the Holy Spirit, being the third person of the God-head (Matt. 28:19), convicts men of sin (John 16:8), indwells (1 Cor. 3:16), baptizes (1 Cor. 12:13), seals (Eph. 4:30), and sets believers apart to a holy life (Ezek. 36:26-27; Gal. 5:22-23). That there is a literal devil who is, "The prince of the power of the air," (Eph. 2:2) "The prince of this world," (John 12:31) and "The god of this age" (2 Cor. 4:4). He can exert vast power but only as far as God permits him to do so (Job 1:12, 2:6). He shall ultimately be cast into the lake of fire and brimstone to be tormented day and night forever (Rev. 20:10).
In the literal Second Coming of Christ at the end of the age when He will return to the earth personally and visibly to consummate His Kingdom. We also believe in and are praying for a great end-time harvest of souls and the emergence of a victorious Church that will experience an unprecedented unity, purity and power in the Holy Spirit. [Psalms 2:7-9 and 22:27-28; John 14:12 and 17:20-26; Romans 11:25-32; 1 Corinthians 15:20-28, 50-58; Ephesians 4:11-16; Philippians 3:20-21; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-5:11; 2 Thessalonians 1:3-12; Revelation 7:9-14] That when the Christian dies they pass immediately into the blessed presence of Christ, there to enjoy conscious fellowship with the Savior until the day of the resurrection and glorious transformation of the body. The saved will then forever dwell in blissful fellowship of Heaven with their great Triune God. We also believe that when the unbeliever dies they are consigned to Hell, there to await the day of judgment when they shall be punished with eternal separation from the presence of God. [Matthew 25:46; Luke 16:19-31; John 5:25-29; 1 Corinthians 15:35-58; 2 Corinthians 5:1-10; Philippians 1:19-26 and 3:20-21; 2 Thessalonians 1:5-10; Revelation 20:11-15 and 21:1-22:15) If you have any questions, please e-mail us: ignite@igniteministries.org
